PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW

Dubac examines truth and illusion.

Robert Dubac's "Male Intellect: The Second Coming" is more like two shows in one.

The first half of this one-man show is pretty much a condensed version of his earlier show "The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?" that played at City Theatre last year. It takes a humorous look at the oft-mined differences between men and women through the eyes of Dubac and his characters the Colonel and the more sensitive Realist. Dubac is a master of character portrayal and shifts dramatically from one to another.

The terrain shifts in the radically different, more substantive second half with Dubac's very funny, sometimes outrageous examination of truth and illusion. In addition to a couple of profanities, his insights, sleight-of-hand tricks and loopy logic will likely challenge or infuriate nearly everyone at some point.

Even while you're laughing, you may find yourself rethinking long-held points-of-view.
